Appears that the newsletter signups have increased over the past few weeks so welcome, and thank you to all newcomers. Just this week, HODINKEE announced several new hires including Tony Traina of Rescapement. The news is extremely exciting, and I am thrilled to witness a friend and one of my favorite writers recognized by the leading watch media platform.
A special thanks to Owen Lawton for the recent feature within his newsletter OxWatch. I’m looking forward to sharing a forthcoming article Lawton has produced that I had early access to. Stay tuned and make sure to keep up with his writing below:

Also, a shoutout to Michael Williams of A Continuous Lean for sending a few people over this way. I anticipate that crowd will find the “Montres Golf” Patek Philippe pocket watch below to be interesting.
Significant Watches Podcast
Episode 21: The Reverso, Rolex Oyster Perpetual 1018, and "UNPOLISHED"!
In the most recent episode of the pod, the fellas and I discuss the history of the Reverso, as well as the controversial timepiece that sold at auction last month. I’m excited to cover new things in episode 22 which will be recorded in the forthcoming days. It takes somewhere between 1-2 hours for me to produce each episode, and I am constantly messaged positive remarks. If you have a few extra minutes, I would love to see more written reviews through the Podcasts app! Or don’t. It’s okay if you don’t want to.
Side-note: While in the Bahamas last week, I asked a collector at Redbar what they thought of the show and they stated they do not tune in because we are not on Soundcloud. I’m tempted to win him over as a regular listener!
Also, Significant Watches was just featured in FeedSpot’s ‘45 Best Watch Podcasts’! Special shoutout to the author and FeedSpot Founder, Anuj Agarwal, for putting together these resources for watch enthusiasts. Take a look at the article, as well as the segmented category for “Watches” I’ve linked below to discover more watch content through the Feed!
Three Unconventional Patek Philippe Timepieces
I recently wrote about three Patek Philippe timepieces which are not only spectacular references, but also ones that you may not have encountered. The first being the reference 2517 which is essentially a rectangular model, but with very cool hooded lugs. It bears a killer caseback engraving, so if you are one of those people that gets excited by stories check that out now. The second is a ladies reference 3086/79 with an outstanding integrated bracelet. I’m a big fan of the ladies PP wristwatches, but I rarely take the time to go into details about them. I’m gonna make it an effort in the future to highlight great ladies wristwatches from the mid 20th century. The final timepiece is a reference 783 “Montres Golf” designed by Gilbert Albert. Albert is in my opinion the best designer to have been employed by Patek, and is largely overshadowed by Genta. His pocket watches however get completely overlooked. It was really quite a privilege to get hands on with this one, and I feel extremely fortunate to share it.

Longines 75th Anniversary Catalog 1866-1941
This catalog predominantly features rectangular American-market wristwatches, which I often see available for reasonable prices. The round, European-market models tend to be more collectable from this era, so perhaps those looking through these images will become inspired to look outside of the box. Also, the pocket watches featured are out of this world. I would certainly love to one day own a simple Longines pocket watch like the models seen below. Should you happen to be a collector and notice any of your personal watches within these catalogs, I certainly welcome you to share a photo of your Longines by emailing me.
