Photographer @Waitlisted Shoots Rowing Blazers x Seiko Limited Edition

My first interaction with James was at Watches & Wonders 2019. I had been enjoying the atmosphere when an enthusiastic watch collector introduced himself. We formed a friendship right away and our Miami watch crew weekend would become one of the best watch experiences over the past few years.

A few months after meeting James, I noticed through social media he had begun to passionately dive into the world of watch photography. Each day he would shoot incredibly vivid photos of timepieces from his personal collection, eventually shooting for friends and watch brands. Upon reaching out to ask if he would like to borrow my Rowing Blazers x Seiko watch, he enthusiastically volunteered to take photographs of it.

While I may be biased, I think that James is one of the most talented photographers. With less than two years of experience, he is most certainly a prodigy when it comes to capturing moments in time. His instagram feed is quite literally one of the the most fantastic places to appreciate watches online.

It is a really great feeling to call up a friend and ask them if they would like to enjoy a timepiece knowing 100% that you can not only trust them with it, but also feel excited that they will get enjoyment out of it. I don’t think there are many other “collecting” communities that you could say this about. Friendships are really one of the special elements to collecting watches. It is such an honor to have a friend like James, and I am so thrilled to be able to share these brilliant pictures he took. Hopefully when we cross paths with in the future, we will both be bored and armed only with a camera and some watches!

”This marks my 800th post since I created my account, and I’d like to dedicate it to my friend Charlie (better known as @books_on_time), to whom this watch belongs. I randomly met Charlie at Watches & Wonders Miami in early 2019, before this instagram account even existed, and I’m very lucky to call him a friend. Not only is he one of the most genuine guys in the scene and a star on watch Clubhouse (during the, like, two months that people actually used Clubhouse), but he is a kind-hearted person who is generous to a fault with both his time and his knowledge. He also mailed me his super cool Seiko x Rowing Blazers all the way from Florida just so I could wear it around for a bit. Thanks, Charlie! P.s. I totally forgot to align the bezel for this shot but luckily it’s sort of hard to tell because of the checkered motif 😬”
